That isn't true at all, not even close. From day one it was described as a million dollar compound in a select neighborhood, and that ""Osama bin Laden raid yields trove of computer data"".

The assault force of Navy SEALs snatched a trove of computer drives and disks during their weekend raid on Osama bin Ladens compound, yielding what a U.S. official called the mother lode of intelligence. Then within a couple of weeks the same compound was being referred to as a command center for all worldwide terrorist activities, and that Bin Laden was the still the acknowledged mastermind and on-scene leader of Al Queda. All the sudden his once primitive compound contained all sorts of intelligence information that would be used for years to come to fight terrorism.
The special operations forces grabbed personal computers, thumb drives and electronic equipment during the lightning raid that killed bin Laden, officials told POLITICO.
They cleaned it out, one official said. Can you imagine whats on Osama bin Ladens hard drive?

WASHINGTON After reviewing computer files and documents seized at the compound where Osama bin Laden was killed, American intelligence analysts have concluded that the chief of Al Qaeda played a direct role for years in plotting terror attacks from his hide-out in Abbottabad, Pakistan, United States officials said Thursday.
And dont forget that the initial stories coming out of the media were his compound was primitive, no TV, no computers, no nothing. Then within a couple of weeks the same compound was being referred to as a command center for all worldwide terrorist activities, and that Bin Laden was the still the acknowledged mastermind and on-scene leader of Al Queda.
After the White House read the truth about what was found in the “compound”, the lies started.............
“This home, U.S. intelligence analysts concluded, was “custom built to hide someone of significance.”
“The plot of land was roughly eight times larger than the other homes in the area. It was built in 2005 on the outskirts of town, but now some other homes are nearby.
“Physical security is extraordinary: 12 to 18 foot walls, walled areas, restricted access by two security gates.” The residents burn their trash, unlike their neighbors. There are no windows facing the road. One part of the compound has its own seven-foot privacy wall.
And unusual for a compound valued at more than $1 million: It had no telephone or Internet service”

On a plot of land much larger than those of nearby houses, it was surrounded by 5.5-metre (18 ft)[5][31] concrete walls topped with barbed wire.[32] Apart from its size, it does not stand out from others in the neighborhood[33] and it was not easily seen except from close by.[34] The compound walls are higher than usual in the neighborhood, although nearly all houses in Bilal Town have barbed wire.[34] There were no phones or internet wires running into the compound.
