Maybe it won’t catch fire so easily in the cold?

20 miles in the cold. Is that with heat, wipers and lights running and maybe the radio?

Exactly, that 20 degree weather and below keeps the battery cool. :-)

Well since it was -12 when I got up this morning, I guess I’d be able to back it out of the garage on electric.

A common rule in the mountains is to keep you gas tank full so that if you slide off the road or get stranded and can't move you will be able to keep the heater running until help arrives.

The Volt is not a vehicle, it is a toy.
The little gas engine in them is the only reason they are going to be used at all in winter

It was -6F here at 9:00 am. I wonder what the mileage would have been then.
The end of the driveway???

the coal burning, endangered bird killing [ wind mills ] , affluent owners of the vehicles ...
How does the heater, defroster, radio ... work at these cold temperatures ?

I hear they burn real well.
Think of it as a twofer.
1-you keep warm with the fire.
2-Its a signal fire.

The end of the driveway??? I would assume it would depend on the length of your driveway;)
It's going to be -13 tonight where I am, probably won't be able to put one of these things in gear ;)

I drive 20 miles one way to work. I guess I would be stuck there....

It really does amaze me that we’ve gotten to this point on the green energy fiasco. Progress is taking an about face with less reliability and vastly higher prices for energy.
