Wanna bet Us 80s metalheads would turn up their noses at 40/50 tunes? you’d lose that bet. If it sounds good, it is good. Current crap is just that. No talent studio/corporate assembly line crap.

Know where to look. Looking at the mainstream radio and TV, you get the same crap qualitywise as when you look at MSM for news and commentary. It’s always been this way. What was the Sturgeon’s Law again? Metalheads digging Perry Como? Don’t make me laugh!

I agree with the point of this thread, but I have to say 80’s metal is the worst music ever made. I’d rather hear Justin Beiber.

There are exceptions, of course. Good is good, no matter what the genre or label. But good is few and far between.

I agree. You know, I do have Sinatra and Martin on my iPod, but I do have GaGa as well as Weird Al's take offs on her. Brubeck shares space with Sabbath, KC & Sunshine Band, Leslie Gore, DJ Mouse, Wolfmother, etc.

One of the best places to hear new, or much different covers, is the soundtrack from "Sons of Anarchy." They have a Mexican version of Dylan's "Times TheyAre a' Changin'"
