At this hour there is still about an hour and a half of snow projected to hit this location. And I decided to go out and play. In my all-wheel-drive vehicle of course. Got about 8" on the ground and the winds have not drifted it (I thought that high winds were part of this extravaganza, but they must all be blowing on Boston..)
So I remove the stuff obstructing vision from the windshield and back window of the car and back out of the parking spot. Trucked out to one end of the driveway with no problem and went down the road a piece and turned back in the other end of the drive. Made several circuits of the drive to knock back the snow just in case some fool wanted to get a car into it before I got up later today and discussed things with the crotchety olde Deere...
I would have taken a longer trip since there was no one on the road but me, but since I didn't let the vehicle warm up, and since the temperature here had dropped something like 6 degrees in the past hour, and since I was freezing by that time, I parked the all-wheel-drive toy and came back inside.
And made a cup of hot tea.
Which I am now enjoying as I babble endlessly.
Which I'm allowed to do 'cause I'm old.
Which happens to rhyme with cold.
And it is..

26 degrees with 30+ wind, says my tv weather-feed. Heard it howling all night. At least the cats were in.

We've got 5° and 10 mph winds from the NE. It's supposed to reach a high today of a balmy 12°...

Well, I made it back to my driveway safely.
The roads are crap, the roadcrews once again have been baffled by the cold crystals falling from the sky.
And the thruway plus route eighty four were closed from midnight to five.
I passed eighty four shortly before five, I can’t see how they could possibly open it by the alotted time.
The plows haven’t been plowing it.
Way to go governor cuomo.

So would I, after that much coffee. I’ve had two cups, but I’m still freezing. Maybe I’ll get some chicken broth!
