Phil Robertson Gets Fired For Paraphrasing the Apostle Paul

The following verse is the scripture that Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty paraphrased while explaining his views on homosexuality to a reporter from GQ magazine, Drew Magary, during a relaxing duck hunting trip on Phil’s pristine wilderness property in Monroe, LA.

I Corinthians 6: 9-10 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals 10) nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

When you constitute 1-2% of the population and swagger around as if you were 50%, ramming your perverted lifestyle down the majority’s throats, I think you’ve managed to get the attention of the 98%. Now that you have it, what do you think you’re going to do now, homos? It’s a little thing called “blowback” and the LBGT activists, GLAAD, and A&E are going to FEEL the heat. Sometimes Karma sucks.

Those words were written such a long time ago.

What do they matter these days?

Neither one of the three branches of government care about their eternal significance until they themselves stand in judgment.

Remember when Coca Cola decided that their customers REALLY wanted a different soft drink instead of the product that made them #1?

A&E has just had their “New Coke moment” and alienated their loyal customer base who made their product #1.

To Coca Cola’s benefit, in less than 3 months, Coke Classic was back in production.

This will go down in lists of history’s most stupid business decisions. Stubborn ideology vs pragmatic business. What’s it gonna be A&E?

I reacted in a similar way, it takes faith to follow Christ not by the law. When I read 1Cor6 I see Paul taking to task the believer who has been cheated by another believer, that to go to secular courts you already have defeated yourself. I think Paul is taking the intention of Our Lord on lust being a infraction of thou shall not commit adultery. If I take a believer to court because he cheated me I am just as greedy. He advises the community to endure.

The quoted scriptures are devastating. The words that immediately follow are even more remarkable because they paint a picture of the true nature of homosexuality which is so divergent from current media propaganda that it's actually revolutionary in the understanding it imparts:

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful...

The goal of the media is to elicit a protection reflex from the general public towards the gay segment of society. Scripture, on the other hand shows an evil, malignant vicious group without much in the way of redeeming value.
It's no great mystery that gays in general don't care much for God or His law.
