Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has been hospitalized after falling ill, his office said Friday.
A spokesman for Reid said the 74-year-old senator was alert and feeling better. His statement did not provide any details about Reid's illness.
“Early this morning, Senator Reid was not feeling well and as a precaution decided to go to the hospital. Tests have been conducted and everything is normal. He is alert, resting and feeling better,” said Reid’s spokesperson Adam Jentleson. “Doctors have asked that he remain in the hospital for observation so he will not be working today.”
Reid worked late into Thursday night and early Friday morning to broker a deal to hold nomination votes before the Senate adjourned, which is expected later Friday.
The majority leader suffered a mild stroke in 2005, leaving him in the hospital and forcing him to cancel some events.
On Friday, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said on the Senate floor that he would be replacing Reid for the day.
“I spoke with him this morning and he sounded good,” Durbin said. “We look forward to his speedy recovery.”

(Sniffle) "Tolerant and compassionate" Obama knows that the most expensive h/care is delivered the last three years of life...so oldsters HAVE to pay more (Sob).
Heck, socking Harry w/ a massive increase could even save money. For sure, decrepit Harry will necessitate expensive medical care for diseases of old age including the ones he's being treated for now--- senility, Alzheimer's, dementia, arthritis, osteoarthritis, heart problems, heart attacks, stroke, kidney failure, prostate enlargement, osteoporosis (brittle bones)....etc.
Course, just in case ol' Harry hangs in there, Obamacare's IPAB kicks in to ration medical care when stubborn old buzzards like Harry insist on getting more healthcare than his lousy $4500 per month entitles him to.
I’d settle for his speedy recovery in retirement.

That was my first thought. I know that everyone I know, myself included, is praying that we stay a free country. That doesn't mesh with a Reid senate.

Certainly the hospital room could be better used by younger person. I suggest a pill and some end of life counciling.
I’ve observed him. Diagnosis. He’s a commie/maxist/socialist/liberal pos. Strong meds needed. With the mental disorder associated with with CMSL he should be removed from his post and put out to pasture. The feds own 85% of NV so there ought to be plenty of places to, uh, sequester his sorry ass.

What would an Obamacare patient pay versus what this evil man pays?

My Christian upbringing and faith prevents me from commenting beyond my intention to pray for redemption of his soul.
If I was not Christian, however, I might be inclined to comment on the hopes and dreams of America’s future and how that might relate to Harry Reid’s not being a member of the Senate anymore.
May Senator Reid have a speedy and full recovery to get him through this Holiday season... so that he may be tried as a traitor, found guilty, and executed as a domestic enemy of The Republic on January 2, 2014.
Harry is required to sign up for ObamaCare, just like Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. As the leaders in each body, they are required under the law to take ObamaCare.
I wonder where Harry’s new doctor and hospital will be as of January 1.
