Rush is pointing out that he’s stayed out of this fray. Which is the same as saying he’s now irrelevant.

Rush Limbaugh on Monday speculated that the
Republican establishment may in fact be so desirous of getting rid of the Tea Party as its base,
they may be willing to lose some elections in order to get rid of their base and put up a new base. When the GOP picks up seats in next years 2014 elections Rush will be spinning a whole different theme.

All it will prove is the the Boenher RINOS weren't able to join the "Friends across the aisle" in their destruction of Free America. Rush will be correct.

Exhibit A to Rush’s thesis: The 2013 race for Governor in Virginia.
I’ve tired of Rush lately and turned him off, but I believe he is essentially correct on this.
And I think the GOP is in for a surprise next NOV. What reasons are the GOP giving conservatives to support them? See 2012 Presidential election.

That is how he stays on top, always right even when he is wrong.. .
Talk radio giant Rush Limbaugh says that Sen. John McCain will score a stunning upset over Sen. Barack Obama and win the presidency on Nov. 4
[Rush] Limbaugh Predicts McCain Victory (NewsMax ^ | October 31, 2008 | David A. Patten, FR thread link )
I almost forgot this one :
We Could See a McCain Landslide (Rushlimbaugh.com, August 12, 2008)
The enthusiasm that got people out in 2010, I'm seeing at every Mitt Romney rally. Romney's drawing crowds of 20,000, 25,000, 30,000, 15,000. The enthusiasm that we all saw in 2010 is there. The same issues that existed in 2010 exist today. There hasn't been anything that's gotten better.

Spot on. Republicans in power act like democrats. After the 2002 elections, instead of a flat tax, balanced budget, and elimination whole agencies like EPA, DoAg, and general deregulation, we got more progressive taxes, more funding to destructive agencies, more regulation, new medicare entitlements, and loads more debt. Short of total collapse I’m not sure what can change it. And collapse will not be a big winner for freedom either. We’re looking kinda doomed.

I don’t doubt they might be this dumb, but where do they think a “new base” will materialize from?

Rush is pointing out that hes stayed out of this fray. Which is the same as saying hes now irrelevant.
Now? He hasn't been relevant since shortly after Øbama took office. His shows since then have been the same, day-after-day-after-day.
He keeps preaching the SOS to the choir while they have to endure his shameless selling of his "patriotic" tea and "patriotic" new book.
If Rush wants to be relevant again; if he really thinks this country is doomed, he needs to put his money where his mouth is and run for office.

That’s the best you can come up with? That he’s a cheerleader come election time?
To: Yosemitest
I will never again vote for a Republican.
I will vote for a conservative.
If this results in a liberal takeover, so be it.
We’re long overdue for Revolution II, and Jefferson had it right when he stated that these things are needed every so often.

RE :”
Thats the best you can come up with? That hes a cheerleader come election time?” He is the compass that usually points everywhere but north.
Now after predicting McCain and Romney would win big as POTUS candidates he is preaching gloom and doom for 2014. But in year he will be singing a different tune, again
Maybe elections are won by ignoring Rush's advice.

They started shedding Tea Party types last cycle through redisticting. They coordinated knocking out Allen West from his seat and also destroyed a safe seat along the space coast by combining it with John Mica’s (the Transportation Chair) safe seat. He took on Sandy Adams who would have coasted to an easy reelection. The leadership could not control Allen or Sandy, so they knocked ‘em out.

Who gives a flying crap what Rush says... blathering endlessly about the obvious does nothing to further the conservative cause, and neither does he, given that he is only speaking to sycophantic or like-minded people in the first place. He has been so marginalized by the socialist media scum, he changes no minds regardless of the topic. In fact he has become so thin-skinned or scared of the leftists, he spends an inordinate amount of time trying to explain away any criticism they have regarding any "controversial" statement he might have said the day before. Today talk, as it always has in the past, means nothing.
