You might try downloading and installing http://www.avg.com/us-en/avg-pctuneup from AVG. It will analyze your system and allow you 1 free fix. The program will also let you view and shutdown applications running in the background. You can then remove it if you like.

I use avg anti-virus and like it. And I did use their free trial maintenance thingy. I guess it worked okay, but don’t notice much difference in speed. But my old laptop wasn’t too slow anyway.

But now every day it gives a big warning that my tuneup is out of date, but I need to buy the tuneup (which I don’t want). It takes a few different types of clicks to get rid of the warning box. Annoying.
