That is actually a great point.. (talking open source, and always changing)..
heck, been sitting here for about 5 minutes traying to think of a good reason to even USE Win (no idea about Mac).. only thing I can think of, is if you are wanting to play Win Games.. sometimes I do, but in this day and age, I hold back :p
Maybe, once every 2 (or so) months, I will jump on Win to play a game (when I get extremely bored)... :p I used to hack DOS games :p
That’s the ONLY reason I still have a Windows gaming system. With Steam going the Linux route more and more, I’m hoping that big gaming companies like Blizzard, Bethesda, and maybe even EA go the route of porting to or even programming on NIX platforms in the future.
Windows has always been about “convenience” for people who refused to use NIX. Having been a devout NIX user now for going on 7 years, I won’t look back.
I hear you, mate. I am forced to use 'doze for certain specific high-end programs that allow that as an option. CAD/CAM, SPICE, and Engineering proggies that now have 'doze versions available, but not Linux.
For everything else, I rely upon Linux exclusively. Nice not staring at a BSOD over and over again, lol!
