I think if you don’t want to work holidays you should not choose a profession where that is likely!!!

I have nothing against commerce, but this guy makes a great point.Lining up to buy crap you don't need with money you don't have to impress people who don't like you.
That statement was right on the money.

There are grocery stores & restaurants of all flavors opened on Thanksgiving so I guess the arguement is against the materialistic pursuits as opposed to family members having to work?

Whatever point he was making was destroyed by his cowardly shouting dressed in disguise and from a moving vehicle. The name-calling didn’t help either. Fail.

Good point, maybe he didn’t want to get stomped on the sidewalk.

I had the misfortune of going to a Costco on Black Friday. (Just wanted to keep someone company). The place was packed right at the opening.

I thought to myself, "if I ran a retail outfit, I'd be open too." Despite the busybodies who'd try to tell me otherwise.

If I was in line waiting to spend money I earned to buy stuff I wanted (for whatever reason) and some loudmouth with a megaphone starts lecturing me about what he thinks I should be doing, he will be lucky not to have a canned ham stuffed down into that handy dandy megaphone. There would also be free advice offered to him in response; in short STFU!. Stay out it man, these people are not committing crimes, these people are waiting to buy merchandise, they are not waiting to arrange abortions. This strikes me as somebody with a big mouth looking for attention. Certain neighborhoods, somebody would (accidently) release their pit bulls to chase Santa away on his cute little golf cart.

Maybe. Or maybe carefully finding the few things you really need at prices you can afford.

Sanctimonious prigs annoy me.

Kind of amusing to see a guy dressed up a mythical person that has nothing to do with Jesus Christ and wasn’t a part of any tradition of Christ or his disciples chastising others for “ruining” the commercialism that the image helped create.

I would place this in the category of poetic irony. Dressing as an angel, shepherd or census taker would not work so well.

Yes!

And what an ass. Oh and he is a 9/11 Truther by the way. But then I think I just repeated myself.

...shoppers lined up to help destroy Thanksgiving for workers in stores.
***************************
Read on FR the past day or so a statement by the head of Wal-Mart, where he addressed the criticism of “making the employees work” on TG. ........He said the majority of workers were volunteers (they wanted to work), that they received additional holiday pay plus a 25% discount on a cart full of goods! ...What a slave driver! /s

True.
In over 20 years in the army I never had a full day off. Even when I worked a desk as a senior NCO I was required to wear my Class As and eat (and spend a couple hours) in the mess hall to mingle with the troops. After retirement I delivered pizza and later drove a cab. We worked all holidays.

Did I help destroy the holiday by watching football on TV, since all the players and the stadium staff and the TV people had to work on Thanksgiving? Did I disrespect Christmas by turning on my furnace and running my lights since the electrical generating stations had to be staffed on Thanksgiving? I filled my tank with gas on my way back from my parents, open on Thanksgiving. So does that put me on Mark Dice’s poop list as well?
