The article says that Stanley Ann Dunham was “born at (sic) Wichita.”

“Boeing announced today that it will shut its Wichita, Kan., plant where generations of workers have assembled bombers for the US military. More than 2,160 workers will lose their jobs when the company closes the factory in 2013, the Associated Press reported.

According to the AP:

Employment at the plant peaked during World War II as the company churned out four bombers a day. Its 40,000 workers included President Barack Obama’s beloved grandmother Madelyn Dunham, known as “Toot,” who did her part for the war effort by working the night shift as a supervisor on the B-29 bomber assembly line.

Job reductions at the plant will begin in the third quarter of 2012, Boeing said in a statement today, Bloomberg News reported.

“In this time of defense budget reductions, as well as shifting customer priorities, Boeing has decided to close its operations in Wichita to reduce costs, increase efficiencies and drive competitiveness,” Mark Bass, vice president and general manager for the Boeing Defense, Space & Security facility in Wichita, said in the statement, the AP reported.

So? It's a well known fact where she was born. What's your point?

There is a Salina Street in Wichita, Kansas.

So what? There's probably a Salina Street in a few other cities. The fact is, she was living at 1829 South Salina Street in Syracuse, New York.

btw, there is no South Salina Street in Wichita.

More than 2,160 workers will lose their jobs when the company closes the factory in 2013...

Are you saying that Madelyn Dunham lost her job in 2013? She died just before the election in 2008. She was retired from a bank in Honolulu. She was living in Syracuse during WWII.

In 1940, Madelyn was only 17 years old and only a junior in high school, living in Augusta, Kansas. Twenty months later, she was pregnant with Stanley Ann, yet you actually believe that this young girl, right out of high school, was a supervisor at Boeing just because an AP reporter says so 70 years later? Why would you believe that the Syracuse Herald-Journal made up that story about her living in Syracuse 70 years ago? What purpose would they have in doing that? Guess what? They didn't have photoshop back then.
