A good friend of mine who spent many years in Lebanon, would put on his most solemn tone, stating “Camel is permitted, but not recommended.”
He also told me (this was in the ‘80s) that some folks there thought it was western to put ketchup on spaghetti, and that Bluto was fighting Popeye for the spinach, and that Olive Oyl was the American ideal because they like there women skinny.
They rooted for Bluto because he looked somewhat Arabic.
