The confirmation hearings for Sebelius’ replacement would be an absolute blood-bath. THAT’S why nobody has been fired.

Bloodbath at the confirmation hearings yes, but also the downside of humiliating people who know where bodies are buried AND dumping the people who may just know how to fix the thing on the critical must be met deadline over the side and replacing them with newbies.
It would be something to look forward to, eh ?
They can't fire anyone, they are afraid they will talk. It's kind of like spouses can't testify against one another.
But something tangent to this, IMHO they are getting as insular as the Nixon Administration was during H20-Gate. It wouldn't surprise me if armchair or real "shrinks" see the similarities and are worried about it....
