President Obama’s signature domestic policy may have accomplished something previously unthinkable: taking an issue where one party had a dominant hold on public opinion, and reversing it in favor of the opposing party.

That's not unthinkable. The GOP does it all the time.

The writer must be comparing her to Barbara Boxer.

The RINOs will seek to “compromise” and bail Obama out by giving him a delay, pushing the problem to after the November 2014 elections. By then the low information voters and the media will be convinced that all is well and the Democrats keep hold of the Senate.

Dianne Feinstein is a MONSTER !

Only idiots and the evil voted for Obama, or ANY of the Democrats.
They've lied to us, constantly, and really are "Collapsing the System".
And now, these "Useful IDIOTS" who voted for them, are buying the lies that "Obamacare was designed to work." ?
It was designed to fail from the start.
THEN ... THEY GO TO THE "SINGLE-PAYER SYSTEM". They've been sucking our wallets dry for over four years now on the "Obamacare" LIE.
AND NOW THEY WANT MORE TAXES ?
Our Founding Fathers would have hung them already!

Lets review: So Democrats,
Sen Mark Kirk's statement Thursday, Dec 1, 2011 ... It's not our fault that DEMOCRATS raided the Social Security Trust Fund.
Let's remember ...

Can anyone explain how Obama's acolytes could mangle the entire Socialized Medicine (Universal Healthcare) plan so egregiously without a plan to do so intentionally. I do believe Obamacare was meant to fail causing an avalanche towards Medicade aka Single-payer or Universal Healthcare....Obama's mission is almost complete.....

Republicans should not lift one single pinkie to save this. Keep it tied completely to the Dims’ necks like an anchor.

It's beginning to look like we might swing control of Congress and the Presidency over this.

Which you'd think would be the perfect time to introduce some health-care reforms that would actually work:

Of course, this is the GOP we're talking about. They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

The best thing that could have happened to Democrats is the start up clusteryuck. It gives them an opportunity to keep lying to people about affordable healthcare. The best thing Democrats could do would be to abandon the whole thing. Delaying it only raises the national anxiety level.

And still the Republicans aren't getting credit for trying to delay all this during the shutdown.

Why the disconnect? Poor and biased journalism explains that.

The Dems are strong no matter what, with the low info voter, the education system and the press on their side.

The argument Landrieu is making on behalf of the bill will appeal to many Senate Democrats.

Possible campaign slogans: "I'm too stupid to actually read a bill before I vote on it, so put me back in the Senate..."

"Those mean Republicans printed the bill in cursive so I could not read the bill before I voted on it"

"You're so stupid you will vote for me again anyway, so here is more free stuff"

overwhelming majorities (70+ percent) of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents are in favor of delaying the law

Unfortunately, we may have passed the point where public opinion matters.

Regardless, we fight on.

“the complete demolition of one party’s long-term dominance on an issue area “

This result seemed natural to me in contemplating the new presidents’ eventual situation if he got what he wanted in this matter. They (the Evil Left) had pretty much gotten away with distorting the Culture of America beyond any recognition over the last 68 years but a ‘successful’ ObamaCare MUST end in collapse of their political fortunes (to say nothing of the economy and our healthcare system.

Again and again I wondered: what were they thinking would happen?

A proper tactic would have undermined the system S L O W L Y over approximately a generation, sucking in dependents as it went.

Either they are going down or force enters into the calculation soon.

...Quinnipiac finds that young people trust Republicans in Congress more on health policy than the president; that a plurality of Hispanics, long the most pro-Obamacare faction, are now opposed to the law; and that overwhelming majorities (70+ percent) of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents are in favor of delaying the law. And that’s not all: Only 19 percent of American voters say the quality of care they and their families receive will improve in the next year because of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), while 43 percent say it will get worse...

So the Republicans will “fix” this.
That’s the big picture I get.
Not good.
