At 4:43 a.m. ET on Dec. 7, 2012, a report of a sexual assault was filed with the Tallahassee Police Department. The incident took place earlier that morning, between 1:30 and 2 a.m. The alleged suspect, it is now known, is Jameis Winston, currently the starting quarterback and Heisman contender for second-ranked Florida State. Winston has not been charged with a crime. Forget innocent until proven guilty, absolutely no law enforcement body has accused him of doing anything at all. He'll continue to quarterback the Seminoles.

This is about the only article I found with any attempts to report this incident fairly. The whole incident smells, from the timing of it, how long it took, lack of evidence, description, who was ever contacted, etc.

The media is doing a hit-job on this guy's character. Most of the reporting has been "guilty" until proven innocent.

Looks like they trying to make this Duke Lacrosse II.

My guess would be that liar Saban started this whole thing, expecting that the liar Saban’s team would meet Florida State for the National title.

I thought the Zimmerman case proved we don’t need to wait for a trial? Has the president come to a verdict yet?

This seems like a shady story to me.

side note- I think it’s BS that a woman can accuse a man of a crime while her name is hidden and his is trashed.

Maybe it is a Buckeye booster who arranged this.

They have precedent now with George Zimmerman in Florida that they can force a trial and character assassination without evidence.

I’m not quite so sure..here’s why. It’s almost nigh impossible in this day and age of instant mass communication that the report of the star player for FSU being a suspect in a sexual assault hasn’t come out...unless it was being buried...which might indicate an attempt to get him off. I’m not saying it is..but it bears great similarity to the Aaron Hernandez story, when he was at UF and got in a fight at a bar..he slugged a guy. It was hushed up..very successfully..

He wasn’t a star a year ago. He was a Redshirt.

Of course he should, just like the Duke lacrosse team, right? Oh wait...

Not to mention that if a man and a woman get drunk together and have sex, her responsibility, if she later regrets what happened, is 0, his is 100%.

Agreed...but as his fame increased this season, so does the likelihood that someone would leak it...unless it was being hushed up..Also, the local cops do cut all the players slack if they can..even a redshirt freshman...I belevve Hernandez was also a redshirt frosh when he had the bar fight..

“My guess would be that liar Saban started this whole thing..”

Yea, right. He’s so damn smart nearly a year ago he sent this woman to seduce a high school quaterback, who BTW, was not yet committed to play for Florida State, just so he could keep him out of a game that he had no way of knowing would be played. Or probably will not be played.

Dang, Coach is even smarter than I thought....ROLL TIDE!!!

It’s hard to tell what the truth is in this “case”. The story is just odd to me. Maybe someday we’ll actually find out.

Hernandez was a freshman, but not redshirted. Either way, he wasn’t some star either.

Agreed...though the sad part is even if the kid’s completely innocent..i.e. the girl’s a whack job...which could also be the case..unless he is now completely and publicly exonerated in the next month, he has ZERO chance of winning the Heisman. The writers are so PC...so way they’ll even vote him..he’ll be left off a lot of ballots...the Reggie Bush fiasco is still fresh in many minds..
