Why does Boehner insist that the GOP be a loser forever?
The longer Obamacare is around, the less popular it becomes. As many as 50 million Americans are going to lose their health care plans, like them or not. Barack Obama is a proven liar. democrats are jumping ship. The USS Obama is sinking. So what does John Boehner want to do?
Republicans have shifted their strategy on ObamaCare. This boggles the mind of the sane individual.Weeks ago, many Republicans said ObamaCare including Speaker John Boehner (Ohio) was too broken to fix. But now, the GOP is drafting legislation that aims to do just that.
The GOP wants to rebuild its political capital and public credibility by solving ObamaCares implementation problems. This pivot comes after Republicans took major hits in polls following the government shutdown. The House this week will vote on a measure called, Keep Your Health Plan Act. It aims to do what the president promised years ago: If you like your health plan, you can stay on it. Senate Republicans, meanwhile, are pushing for a vote in their chamber. That measure has already attracted Democratic support.
Due to the insurance market and ObamaCare mandates, millions have recently lost their healthcare coverage. Many of these dropped people will obtain coverage through the new ObamaCare health exchanges, but some, if not most, will pay higher premiums.
After their costly political strategy to defund ObamaCare, GOP lawmakers are more willing to support measures that will repair the presidents signature healthcare law, political science professor Jack Pitney said.
Republicans took a look at the polls. They finally realized that defunding ObamaCare was unpopular, but a measure like this [is] very popular. They realized that, despite all the brave talk, that the shutdown did not work to their advantage and now they are trying to get on the right side of public opinion, he said.

The Republicrats and Democans are the two faces of the Big Government party.
Depressing, isn’t it?
0bamaDontCare is a Zombie (like Boner).
Don’t mend it, end it.
I heard the ex secret service agent Bongino say everybody was a sell out and corrupt-he would not say anything specific to zero. Only that he was a nice guy in general...odd
Weepy Eyes lays the gauntlet down.. Well sorta, if Obama approves, and McCain.
F him and the horse he rode in on.
I’ve seen bigger sissies in Boys Town in Roscoe Village in Chicago.
I don’t see how this would work anyway. So they are going to force the insurance companies to reinstate the cancelled policies? Good luck with that.
boner is a compromised whiner. It is amazing that he is so duplicitous. boner is limp...flaccid.
I think Boehner is an alcoholic.
Boehner and 2/3rds. of the Republican eat sh*t and bark at the moon.
They need tar and feathers for betraying honest people who voted for them.
Well we have two conflicting goals.
Maximally embarrass the Democrats, or show mercy to the people who were getting dumped off their health plans.
I personally vote with the mercy; the GOP did manage to let the Democrats fumble this baby all of themselves. But I vote with the mercy, and so does, in fact, God.
And let me point out — doing one thing that God wants can often bring in many other blessings along with it, that we may not have foreseen in a heavenly game of chess that only God can follow, though we can look instructively at how it has played out before (with the bible and history as a help here).
Basically, a “class move” will embarrass those who are not classy. Undermining the resources of a sinner is not the only way to reach the sinner. In the end it isn’t even the ultimate way. A blessing has to be extended, and accepted. I would make step 2 be to offer up, once more, a repeal bill.
I'm with you. There are plenty of conservatives who have been hurt tremendously by Obamacare. Is the GOP supposed to let them rot on the vine?
And politically I think a rescue is a good thing also. Everyone will know it's the Democrats that caused the people's crisis. The GOP can show they have answers and will thereby win votes.
And... this GOP move won’t make the rest of Obamacare any less unviable. It’s still an unconstitutional tax as well as a general nuisance, and those pedants at the USSC will probably agree once the “right” case comes. It may provide a way for some of that trapped snake, the Democrats, to back out from this folly. And for those who refuse to be isolated for ridicule and scorn and rejection.
Don’t sneer at obedience to God. Mercy is the right thing here.
translation: Major blocs of GOP donors stand to get REEEEEEEAL RICH off of Obamacare, and don’t want it repealed.
And right now the odds of repeal coming from panicked Democrats are rising.
Please dust-can the cynicism about what is quintessentially a mercy move.
If John Boehner couldn’t fail, he’d die of boredom.
Don’t fix it, nix it!
Oh I would agree the GOP should serve up a repeal bill alongside of this.
But this is a mercy move and it really shows up how classless the Democrats are. This is a quintessentially godly move. Mercy is of God. Hell cannot generate any mercy.
