That’s exactly how it’s supposed to work. When you get the oil changed on your car, you don’t turn in the bill to your auto insurance carrier. It’s a routine cost. Pay it.

In theory that is the way HC coverage works - even the coverage under ACA. The co-pays and deductible are the little things; The amount of premium you pay in that you don't use year by year covers catastrophic events. This young woman wasn't covered for any catastrophic illness or accident - that is kind of selfish and self-centered of her - especially for a loving kind hearted liberal!
