t’s amazing the lies the Obama Administration is trying to propagate. In 2009 and 2010, it was that you could keep your insurance if you liked it under the Affordable Care Act. Now, in 2013, the lie is that the President never said that.
Unfortunately for the Obama Administration, there is a thing called the internet. And worse, there is Kathleen Sebelius, an incompetent liar who fits right in with the President’s group of cronies.
In 2010, shortly after the passage of the Affordable Care Act, Sebelius answered questions from the press about the new law. The very last question from the press asked, “On the grandfathered plans, what sort of flexibility will they have to change the deductible or co-payment or a benefit and retain that status?”
This was Sebelius’s response (emphasis mine):
“Uh, clearly that, um, regulation is not finalized, but I think the… that the goal is to, um, you know, live up to the… the President’s commitment that if you have a plan that you like, you’ll get to keep it. Uh, and how that balances with some of the new consumer protections and how broadly to draw that regulation is currently what’s, you know, being debated.
