As a flyover state guy, I’m not sure if I give a rip.
I know there are some nice folks in NYC who will suffer.
But a lot of progressives may get to learn a bit of a lesson.
Wrong, the only lessons “progressives” ever learn is that they desire even more “progressivism”, if they won’t use the label “socialism”.
I live directly across the river. I’m in the city almost every day. This IS what the people there want. I have relatives in the city who want this, some whom will even be more than happy to be mugged as long as they’re not hurt too badly... First of all, subconsciously they think they deserve it (and that we ALL deserve it), and it will also give them more reason to blame the “tea party” for making that poor person do that to them. It really is insane. Politics are a mess on my side of the river too, but not like this. What’s funny is when you talk to the people who will vote for this, they can never stop telling you how sophisticated they are.

You know, I live in NYC and I’m not sure I give a rip anymore. Guiliani was great. He was the reason I came back to this city (I was born here but fled as soon as I was old enough to do so). People had so many negative things to say about Guiliani, which never ceased to amaze me. I watched the man take the city from a corrupt, dangerous hell hole to a very nice place to live. I voted for Lhota last night and of course, DeBlasio the anti-Semitic Communist won today. If that’s what New Yorkers want, so be it. I’m moving out as soon as my lease is up.
