It is believed Barack Sr. lied about his age and that his real birth date was 1934 not 1936. If true, he would have been 27 at the time of Barack Jr's birth and not 25 as shown on Barack Jr's birth certificate. If Barack Sr. disclosed his real age in 1962 (28), he would NOT have qualified for admission to Harvard as a foreign student. So, it is possible Barack Sr. pretended to be younger than he really was in order to be eligible to attend American universities. The fact Barack Jr's birth certificate shows Sr's age at 25 in 1961 and not 27, could indicate that the birth certificate was forged well after 1961, which apparently is the case.
