Potter was one in a million. Until Harry Morgan was cast as Col. Potter, his roles were small and he was “forgettable” at best. It would seem he never lacked work, though.

The later episodes of M*A*S*H showed him painting, and was, truly, a gifted artist. His hands reminded me of my dad’s, so I was not surprised when “they” began to show his paintings on the series.

However, he was a known “domestic abuser.” As an aside, the photo of “Mildred” was a photo of his real-life wife.

I never read his bio, but I loved that character. My father is from the same part of Missouri as “Colonel Potter,” and we’re distantly related to Black Jack Pershing.
