They’re 18. That’s the problem. I’ll move over a bit and let you sit beside me in that boat.
Hugs and prayers.

Since you recently had a clean colonoscopy, it must be an acute condition, and not something breeding for awhile. Prayers starting for you and your family. Will you have an advocate to keep us posted while you are away from your ‘puter ? Stay strong!

My prayer is that God gives you the grace to accept whatever the outcome...Medically, calling something a cyst is a little different than having the doctor tells you he found a Mass or tumor...spirits up for you and your family, and as another freeper said, waiting is the hardest part. You have 9 feet of colon, the right side is directly from the small intestine. Usually cancer is in the descending colon on the Left side of your stomach. 90% of colon cancer is on the left side (descending colon). On the right side the odds are with you that its not cancer. Hope for the best, be prepared for the worse.

Actually we had tests in a whirlwind of activity 1 week. That’s all done, which is why we were concerned about the CgA.
Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement.

The CAT is what launched me into this mess! ER did that when I went in for severe unreleivable “gas” pains.
I’ve had all the blood and MRI done. Also EKG because I have intermittent but frequent PVCs (another reason to fear surgery for 3 hours).

Good to know about your “whirlwind” of tests.
Sounds to me like you have a very caring and excellent surgeon.
I promise to keep you in my prayers.
I read your posts to my husband, DrO, and he said, he knows you’re anxious, but to please try not to worry ahead of time, that he also thinks you’re in good, competent hands.
God bless you, sweetheart.

Praying for you now. (and I have been told that not asking for prayers for myself is denying a blessing to others that will pray for me) May be you be given health and courage and comfort.

Good. I figured you had, but just wanted to make sure. What is PVC? The surgeons know how to control so many potential problems these days it is truly remarkable. Try to keep that it mind as you are mentally preparing yourself.
I was thinking earlier that you probably will not have as hard a recovery as I described either. I really think my was that bad because I had two major surgeries in a three day period. So hopefully yours will go much better and you will not have as much pain. Try not to worry too much. The good Lord has His hand on you and has brought you to this point to get the help you need. Many good people will be praying for you too.
I know how scary it is, but faith will keep you strong. If the fear starts really getting to you, do not hesitate to ask for a Xanax or something to help calm you down before surgery. Please keep us posted as soon as you can.

Prayers for you and your surgery. I went through something similar years ago, they removed part of colon and small intestine and abcess. Take things easy, you’ll be feeling fine in no time.

I will be praying for you, too. I read your post yesterday and thought of my daughter who at 27 had what ended up being cancer surgery to remove her appendix and 1/3-1/2 of her colon. They weren't sure what they were dealing with and thought it could be cystic in nature. My daughter was very fit at the time, running 7 min miles, and was able to be released from the hospital after 4-5 days. The incision for surgery was small! It took a little time for her to get used to having things jiggle around in her abdomen for a while. Three years later she still likes to stay close to a bathroom for a half hour or so after she eats and is a bit bummed that beets seem to not suit her well anymore. She's doing well. She's ran her first marathon a year after her surgery and is a CrossFitter. I think she'll have a clean bill of health in another couple of years. The type of cancer she had was a Carcinoid tumor, which are generally treated through surgery. I guess carcinoid of the appendix is the best kind to have. I pray that all goes well for you!

PVCs is premature ventricular contractions - it’s heart palpitations coming on the ventricle side. It’s a little worse than the atrium side (PACs), but generally not a big deal. However, 3 hours with this under the anesthesia is more sketchy than just the colonoscopy I had the other month!
Thanks alot for your help and support. I truly appreciate it and like hearing from people with similar issues.

Wow, I’m sorry you all had to endure that!
THAT is what concerns the doctor - carcinoid. He ruled out sarcoma, which is good.
So she is very similar to me, at least potentially. My “cyst” is about 4.5” long and like a sausage. BTW, it’s so big and so uncertain that the doctor prefers to do it “open”, not laproascopically. He gave the option but said the thing is so big it could be dangerous, and would probably end up opening me anyway. Likewise, he said lap vs. open really isn’t that different in recovery for these abdominal areas.
Thank you for your story and help - I pray God continues to bless you all. Sometimes I think God just wants to have us see what it’s like to have something tough, even if it’s not really bad in the end.

Thank you for your attention and prayers. In fact, they don’t really know what it is. It has been called a cyst, cystic lesion, and abdominal mass. All kinds of names. Including the idea it may BE the appendix.
