Washington Post columnist George Will suggested on Fox News Sunday placed blame for hyper partisanship that plagues Washington, D.C. on President Barack Obamas progressive, polarizing politics.
Moderator Chris Wallace at suggested the tense atmosphere could either be the result of gerrymandering or an aspect of American culture. Will disagreed, pointing to Obama as the source.
Its not that simple, Will replied. The fact is, we have a very polarizing president. Im not criticizing him for this. Hes a progressive. He exists to enlarge the power of government as an engine of the redistribution wealth and opportunity. Thats his agenda. Hes not interested in a grand bargain. Hes not interested in compromising. He doesnt think he needs to.
Will asked what the president wanted to accomplish during the remainder of his second term, which the media often ignore in favor of highlighting the in-fighting within the GOP.
For all the talk about the Republican Partys dysfunction, would someone tell me what the presidents second term agenda is? he continued. Were in nine months. What is it, immigration? Its not going to happen. Gun control? What is this mans agenda for the remaining three-and-a-half years of his term?
Third Term:
1. Screw the rich
2. Screw the middle class
3. Screw the poor
4. Enrich the Apparatchiks and Ruling Class
As I stated earlier on another thread, I believe George Will has been freed from the shackles of having been on a very liberal leaning show on ABC (This Week), and is now much more able to express his more conservative beliefs without repercussion. I think you will see a continued conservative vocalization by George Will now that he has been liberated in his own mind to speak his own mind. I expect he will follow in the same vein in the future.
He sure doesn’t seem comfortable in the shout- and slug-fests that pass for “discussion” on these shows.
What I said was not just political rhetoric. There's been a trend by this President that one would have to be blind to see. What I do not recall Bush saying is that he wanted to fundamentally transform America.
Sorry, I disagree with your naivety

Noted. I of course hope you’re not correct, FRiend!
Will is what I would call a “Traditionalist.” He has his occasionally liberal leanings, but they are well within the American tradition. I’ve actually been thinking that the term “Conservative” has been so maligned by the Left, that we should re-brand as “Traditionalist.” Even Americans on the left respect tradition, whether it be in their family or the nation as a whole.
