Yes. There will always be some bankers that still have skin in the game but the majority in power have taken their prize and left. I don’t see the extremely wealthy and powerful giving a damn about what happens now.

What I don't get is, where will they (top tier global elites) live when the world is in ashes? Even if they have a gorgeous island to retreat to, completely stocked with food and necessities for several years, they still would be dependent on food and supplies being flown in from various countries once their stash runs out. If countries are in flames (and this most likely would spread like wildfire worldwide) how could they possibly last more than a year or two at most, while they wait for farms and factories to start again? Are they just so sure that the US federal government will be able to quickly clamp down and turn the US into a police state before much chaos insues? I just don't understand what they could possibly be thinking, how this could ever be a good thing for the "elites".

They know the world will not completely end. Their riches and influence will always provide for them. They do not rely on grocery stores for their food. Never have.
The elites do not see war as something they desire but if war is a consequence of their actions in their climb for power and money, so be it. They see that as better than being poor and powerless. Besides, there are big bucks in war.
In war someone is always buying and consuming something and selling is profitable. Not to mention, wars do not last forever. If anything, wars clean out their competition if they play their cards right, so when the war ends they still have money and power.
