And the effects from that are proven to be what? And what was the alternative; should we have not developed nuclear weapons?

So your nose, crank or jaw rotted off by the late 60s and 70s into the 80s....So what...Who cares! Government says it was nearly perfectly safe...The same levels as eating Beijing microwave popcorn. Yep...I believe it.

Detonating atomic/nuclear weapons over your own homeland is really clever stuff.

If only there were some place to detonate nuclear weapons where the fallout wouldn't go into the air... perhaps we could find large deposits of dirtlike and rocklike substances somewhere that could be used as shielding....
