“typewriter alignment”?

Define that, specifically. Have you ever used a typewriter?

I am 66 years old. I was taking typing as an elective course at a Florida Jr High School (9th grade) before Obama was born. As a result of this training, I later used various models of typewriters throughout my 8 years in university and for many years thereafter.

Trust me, the document posted contains too many alignment errors and suggests that it originated with someone totally unfamiliar with typewriter behavior, and they unknowingly used a computer to drag & drop individual words/phrases into a blank, or semi-blank, form.

Question: Exactly why would a typist back then interrupt her work to adjust the roller three times in order to type Obama's birth date? Look closely....do YOU know how a typewriter works?
