It's like the return of the sequester cuts in how Obama and his political allies are using the current government shutdown to intentionally hinder and punish American citizens. We all remember that when the dreaded sequester cuts (which weren't cuts at all) went into effect, the Obama administration told federal agencies to cut back in those areas that would most inconvenience the public. Well, the same thing is happening again as the government shutdown continues to lurch forward. The progressive liberals in Congress and in the Obama administration just continue to show their true contempt for the average citizen.
The media is eagerly reporting every closed museum, monument, and hot dog stand they can find, all in an attempt to lay the blame solely upon Republicans. What they are not reporting (intentionally) is that the government is forcing private institutions to close during the shutdown and, in some places, are spending more money to keep an area closed than it would to have it open. One such place that has been forced to shutter its doors is the Claude Moore Colonial Farm in Virginia. This park is privately-funded, yet the government has forced it to close as it lies upon Park Service land. An official of the farm said that their staff was on the job, but that the Park Service was barring people from entering. The managing director of the park, Anna Eberly, said in response to the Park Service saying that parks have to be closed because they cannot afford staff during the government shutdown, "What utter crap. We have operated the Farm successfully for 32 years after the NPS cut the Farm from its budget in 1980 and are fully staffed and prepared to open today. But there are barricades at the Pavilions and entrance to the Farm. And if you were to park on the grass and visit on your own, you run the risk of being arrested. Of course, that will cost the NPS staff salaries to police the Farm against intruders while leaving it open will cost them nothing.”
Another example is George Washington's plantation, Mount Vernon. The Park Service put up barricades to shut down parking lots for this historic site despite the fact that Mount Vernon is privately-owned. The site is owned by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association, which has been a non-profit and owned the site for over 150 years. Other examples abound as the government has shut down bike and hiking trails, putting guards there to keep people out despite the fact that they are using more manpower to keep an area from being used when they normally don't have a single person stationed there at all normally.
This just shows that the progressive liberals are marching to their old drumbeat of "never let a good crisis go to waste." They do not care about the average American. It's all scoring political points, advancing their narrative, and tightening their grip on our daily lives. Just like Obama shutting down the White House tours during the sequester, his progressive liberal allies are going out of their way to shut off access to parks and trails just to stick it to us lowly peasants. Their unwillingness to negotiate at all or to fund specific programs that they have touted as important (but not so important as to compromise with Republicans) just shows their true colors and contempt for us average Joes.
DIMocRATs, LIBs and RINOs hate free people and hate freedom.
These people including Obama are elected. They are not our bosses. They work for us. If they are not doing their job; they need to leave their offices.
Anna likes to make people's lives a living hell... I assume she has a home somewhere. Maybe a few barrycades need to be placed outside her home!!

Its up to the people to oppose this vile rule—Occupy Wall Street people knew what to do—tear down the walls now or face the long lines to get on the trains to the death camps in the future. This can only stand if we let it happen—if we do—we are no better than the “good” Germans who did nothing while Hitler misruled his people.
Resistance is not futile, we will not be assimilated.
