Joe, who answered my call at CBS said that they got their information from the IPPC report which said the if the earth had no water the temperatures here would be the boiling point of water.
The fact that oceans cover 71% of the earth and contain 97% of the earths' water had no affect on CBS.
I'm not kidding. This is CBS.

I don’t see why it couldn’t get even hotter. Temperatures can go above 212 degrees. But they obviously don’t know what in heck they’re talking about.

As an aside, I think the winter storms get such cool names. And I don’t even think about Climate Change (TM) when I hear them.
Cloudy with a chance of meatballs has more of a basis in reality than these warmists.

Thanks. Guess I either didn’t pay attention last year or I thought it wasn’t important enough to remember. I really only care about hurricanes but if one of these winter storms hits Houston we’re going to have more problems than we can say grace over. It’s just been a hoot the three or four times we have had snow in the last 28 years. Black ice on the bridges and overpasses at 35 degrees is enough of a mess.
And they undoubtedly will at some point, due to the expansion of the dying sun in a few billion years. I'll worry about it later.
I suppose pointing out to them that if there was no water there would also be no people here to give a sh** about how hot it became would be a waste of time?
