Well not exactly but... whan all those toddlers are screaming? The flight attendants have the ability to adjust the cabin pressure a little (most Boeing AC). As they drop the pressure those screaming meemees all pass out. Once asleep the crew raise the pressure back up so the rest of us feel better.
So that thing about sedation is a somewhat accurate.
I’m pretty sure the pressure altitude must be adjusted from the cockpit although the cabin crew might have some control over air recirculation which may make some difference ... it was always standard procedure to raise the altitude a bit to give the crew some downtime on long overnight flights.
When I was using my drink coupon at 9am, telling myself it was 5:30 somewhere, I refrained from asking the trolly dolly if pilots were the biggest consumers of alcohol as pax. I didn’t want to give myself away or scare my seatmates. Please don’t tell CPS I used to give my kids benadryl before flying...oh, nvm, they’re all adults now. I just always pray that people won’t stop believing, en masse, that metal tubes can fly. Always tests my faith as a Christian. I told my pilot husband, “I don’t fly well.” He said, “Really? (LOL)” Thank your captain. Just sayin’.
“The flight attendants have the ability to adjust the cabin pressure a little (most Boeing AC). “
The stewardesses controlling cabin pressurization. . .not the air crew? The air crew cabin has the same pressure as the main cabin, so, you are saying stewardesses can lower the pressure causing slight to severe hypoxia, therefore impair the pilots and other cabin crew?
Imagine an angry ugly old bitter stewardess (not hard to imagine on US flagged carriers), getting even by depressurizing slowly. . .thereby taking out the air crew and cabin crew and passengers. I am not sure the FAA would certify an aircraft that allows stewardesses to control cabin pressure.
Got a link for reference on that?
Not true...pressurization is controlled from the cockpit and the back of the bus folks have nothing to do with it..and yes I was an airline pilot...
