As the parents of the other kids getting “plinked” at by the kids with the foam guns,

'Airsoft" guns shoot "foam pellets"? I was under the impression 'Airsoft" was just the pc name for bb guns.

Shhhhhsssh!!! this country has been propagandized to the point of idiocy.

Even in my county, which is one of the most conservative districts in America, a kid cannot pretend his finger is a gun and not get reprimanded.

Our forefathers won't recognize their descendants...

just out of curiosity have you ever been shot by an air soft gun? These are not like paint balls or bbs. Since they had a pistol the velocity and impact would hardly be as bad as a well placed rubber band twang.

Be that as it may. If someone is that worked up they ought to talk to parents and children. Calling the police for this is nuts.

I would be ticked off if my daughters were hit because I figure they wouldn’t want to be shot. Hubby or I would march over to the boys’ houses and report our concerns to the parents. That’s the way parents we knew in Va Beach handled things when we lived there not so long ago. It was really simple. If cops were called, we would be livid. We would have absolutely nothing to do with the whiny family ever again.

One of the boys is going to be home schooled. Probably the best thing to happen to him regarding his education.

Someone said this was about the pranksters taking BB shots at kids in line at a school bus stop. That would arguably be within the school’s area of interest. Sometimes areas of interest do overlap. Still. This is a very excellent, if not perfect, storm of gun-phobia and zero-tolerance.

Which of course only paints that family into a corner... you might well succeed in ostracizing them but you could also expect to get lots of cop calls after that. What with lots families already voluntarily virtually ostracizing themselves... could they even tell a difference?

That ain’t God’s way of sorting out disputes... THAT involves the very ego-counterintuitive step of more love not cutting off love.

I had a BB in my leg for many years from my brother’s gun. To scared to tell Mom. I got even though I shot him with a 22 short - barely drew blood. He shot me back in the forearm. Nice conversation scar, chicks dig it(at least when I still talked to chicks that way. Mrs. Mad now frowns on it.)

Again, you keep missing the PRINCIPLED bigger issue.

“Area of ‘interest’” or not, the circumstances mark the issue OUT OF their - the schools - AREA OF AUTHORITY.

Your kids behavior out of school and off of school prpoerty is legally NONE of your school’s ffffng business.

My recollection is that schools do have liability, some anyways, over the safety of kids at a bus stop. Fairfax County VA routinely closes or delays classes during winter weather not because the roads aren’t clear and safe for busses, but because the kids could get hurt falling on ice covered sidewalks at the bus stop.

Not saying that such liability is a good thing, but if true then the schools are appropriate in taking this kind of action. Not their fault they’re forced into risk adversity at a stupid level because our society is so lawsuit happy ...

Well who “owns” responsibility for the school bus stops and vicinity?

Seems to me that... if they could get sued over it... then they have the right to say something about it. Can’t have one without the other, brother.

plastic pellets, airsoft pellet guns, they don’t ding glass even at the barrel tip. you barely feel it when it hits your clothes

My son has the exact same pistols from Walmart in the Marine Corps 1911 paint job. These are spring loaded Airsoft guns and extremely weak. The nosy neighbor simply because she is a hoplophobe.

This would be a different story with a more expensive Airsoft electric or CO2 gun. I’ve been shot by those and they sting.

And the original call did not say anything about a school bus stop. Obviously, the kid is a problem child at school and they wanted any excuse to get rid of him.

“Well who “owns” responsibility for the school bus stops and vicinity?”

The issue did not take place on the school bus or directly at the bus stop, but on private property of a house near to the school bus stop. Like I said, the woman who called SHOULD HAVE called the home of the kids where the issue took place and the school also should have told her that’s where she should have called. NOT on school property and NOT at school the school could have been successfully sued for anything - the behavior was out of their legal jurisdiction.

Apparently you think our kids are wards of the state and the state can control their behavior via “school rules” no matter where they are and no matter when. You’re wrong.

Yeah I get that now but before I thought Airsoft equaled BB gun.

I really hate when they keep changing the names of things...
