On Sunday, Chris Wallace, the host of Fox News Sunday, said that Republicans in Washington were savaging Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) behind Cruz's back before Cruz's appearance on the program to discuss defunding Obamacare.
In an appearance on Washington D.C.'s Fox 5 to preview his Sunday show, Wallace said, "I will tell you I have never in my time in Washington seen a party so upset with one of its own members."
He said he had been flooded with opposition research on Cruz--from Republicans. Later on Fox News Sunday, Wallace said these "top Republicans" gave him "unsolicited research and questions" to "hammer" Cruz.
"Since we announced that Ted Cruz was going to be on the show, I've been getting background research and questions going after Cruz not from Democrats but from other Republicans," Wallace said on Fox 5. "They really feel he has put them in this corner that they can't get out of gracefully and they're not very happy with him."
In an exclusive op-ed for Breitbart News on Saturday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who has also been savaged by establishment Republicans, urged Cruz to stay strong in the face of inevitable attacks from fellow Republicans and suggested they compare "shiv marks" the next time they meet:
"Were now, once again, subjected to the anonymous sources backstabbing game. The Capitol Hill cowards are rushing to anonymously denounce Senator Cruz to any reporter with a pad and pen.
Welcome to our world, Ted. The same people have been denouncing conservatives like me for years (right after they ask for help fundraising for themselves or endorsing the latest candidate theyve suckered into paying their exorbitant consulting fees). We can compare shiv marks next time we meet, my friend."

That is precisely the point.
I smell Karl Rove all over this.
If it’s now he wants this fight, then it’s now he’ll get it.
I do not know whether they really support Obamacare or not; they got their exemption after all. But I can say that these weasels are scared of a genuine fight of national proportions. What these idiots do not understand is that the issues of Obamacare and amnesty are, by design, to eliminate/neutralize the republicans from the fight entirely. They want to turn around and go back to the shire to live but do not understand that there won't be a shire to live in.
I do not care to belong to an organization with the likes of the GOPE. Just gotta make it official as soon as I have nothing better to do.
The price of exemption was their support. It also helps to remember that irrespective if there's a (D) or (R) after their name, it's us against them.
They're the political ruling class vs. us mere peasants.
With rare exception, that's what each and every one of those filthy corrupt BASTARDS in DC think of you and I.
The sooner you learn that lesson and treat them with the same disdain that they treat us, things will change in this country.
One bucket of tar, one bucket of feathers, and 25 feet of rope at a time. In the spirit of our Founding Fathers.
Ted Cruz Ping List!
If you want on/off this ping list, please let me know.
Thanks for the pingy lingy!
It’s time to dance. A vote for cloture is a vote for 0care.
Feet to the fire. The line has been drawn.
Go, Ted, GO!! You’re over the target!!
Boehner, McConnell, Cornyn, Cantor, Ryan, Cole and McCarthy.
It has to be Boehner and MCconnell
McCain’s is just like that PA Senator, Arlin Specter who turned traitor...McCain is just like him, just hides under his “senor status”...well, may he go just like Arlin went and not a day too soon!
Emails and calls to all GOPe orgs/indiviuals!!!
Yup. Time to name names.
I'll suggest that the pubies were mearly intermediaries in the process.
They say “You’re forcing us to vote the opposite of the way we want to vote and we hate Cruz.” With this they think they’ve done enough to win our votes next time.
They’re admitting this is all a scam. Both parties are in on this. And remember, none of them or their brilliant staff have to play by the new rules. So why should they care?
LeBouitilier (sp), former “R” congressman from NY, was on Fox a while ago. Here’s what he said. And this isn’t exact but it’s close. “These superstars show up but they’re not stars for long. Look at Herman Cain and Rick Perry and Sarah Palin. If you want to come up here and stay you have to do things that work.”
If you want to come up here and stay? That’s their mindset. They run intending to stay until they’re ready to retire wealthy. Doing what they were elected to do never enters their minds. And they hate every candidate who attempts to do what he or she promised.
Boehner, McConnell, Cornyn, Cantor, Ryan, Cole and McCarthy."
Don't forget Corker and Alexander.... my two worthless Senators. I am sure they were both hip deep in the info sharing. I will call them, but it is probably more effective to spit into the wind.
