Salma Hayek...
Hey, how’d she get in this manual?
You know, at Wifi frequencies of say 2.4 GHz or even 5.8 GHz, you really didn’t need that green laser to lockup on that 100 mile tower....at those frequencies a little 12 inch parabolic dish with prime focus feed would give you about a 28 degree or 11 degree beamwidth for those frequencies, respectively. The Friis path loss at those two freqs is 124 and 131 dB, respectively.
That’s why those little 12 and 18 inch millimeter wave dishes are so useful....very high gain, 1-2 degree beamwidth and enough gain on them to punch through some of that 148 dB path loss compared to those much lower frequencies.
Yup, didn’t really need the laser but since we had it it was just too cool an idea to pass up. It was surprising that the guys at the other site could see the green laser so well. Humidity was about 8 percent so it was crystal clear that night.
This is nice...

Yes...nice sheet....
I did my own in Excel that allows me to do the whole link with losses, transmitter power, antenna sizes on both ends, distance and even noise figures and receiver bandwidths added so I could determine what the received signal level would be with respect to what the noise floor of the receiver would be..
Yea...I like those little lasers....they pack a punch and are easier to see, I think...
I was watching some obscure movie with her in it...
