I was there, circulating petitions and having liberals spit at me. But I missed the story at the time about his signing a “pledge,” probably because I assumed he was lying, and it was not legally binding. I just figured if the unlikely scenario where he would actually lose a vote ever developed, he’d just pull a Foley.
