The soda companies are probably responsible for more obesity in this country than any other companies. I quit soda about 6 months ago and that alone reduced most of my fat.
That said, it is not the business of government if we want to kill ourselves.
This came from the big assed mama?
How ironic.......
I’ve cut way back to almost none and feel better. Maybe some fat has receded. It has been a couple of weeks.
More to the point, I believe she wishes to deny you access to anything enjoyable.
That said, it is not the business of government if we want to kill ourselves.
To the Syphilitic Progressive mind everyone’s business is THEIR business!
Aspartame - the ingredient in many diet colas, tea & lemonade is actually a poison and is thought to be one of the many causes of diabetes. The rate of diabetes in 1950 was .78% of population, today it is 11%. I believe the biggest culprit in this growth are the synthetic sugars (like aspartame) and the genetically modified foods, in addition to the additives in our bread and cereal as mandated by congress. These additives actually makes one gain weight and are not easily digestible by the body. Forecasts for the growth of diabetes are absolutely alarming - soon we’ll be into Black Death territory - its already a pandemic, just no one’s calling it that.
I agree. I’m very sensitive to sugar yet I crave it. When I’m on my A game and avoiding it not only do I feel better overall, but the arthritis pain in my feet disappears. I’m also prone to candida and that issue disappears. The weight loss isn’t bad either. We’ve actually switched to what I call a clean diet, which eliminates processed foods and focuses on whole foods and ingredients. We eat full fat dairy, homemade whole grain breads, nuts and seeds, etc.
As with your statement, I think that people should eat what they want regardless of what Big Gov recommends. It’s ironic that Big Gov insists on the right of a woman to “choose” to murder her child, yet tells that same woman what and how much of something to eat or drink.
Maybe, it still is none of the governments business.
The governments subsidies of the sugar industry are causing it, because it made soda companies switch to corn syrup.
Have you noticed that HFCS, fake sugars, corn by-products, and soy have become the main ingredients of processed foods? I make all of our bread now because I can’t find any, without paying a fortune at an artisanal shop, with minimal ingredients. My recipe is whole wheat flour, water, olive oil, honey, yeast, salt. Look at a loaf of “healthy” bread ingredients from the store shelf. The list is a mile long and unpronounceable!
I was talking to a professional person about some medical problems and that came up. I have also cut back on the processed stuff as much as I can.
"I believe". Anyone can believe anything. Fortunately, the scientific method does not rely on "I believe" to answer questions of causation or we'd still be in the Dark Ages on a lot of things.
But using ordinary logic and inference, it is more likely the increase in diabetes in linked with the general increase in body mass than with any particular ingredient of food.
I quit about 10 months ago after being diagnosed with Type II. Now I drink water with an occasional unsweet/diet iced tea.
I look back on that diagnosis as a blessing. I've dropped 30 lbs, changed my diet (Fuhrman's Eat to Live), more exercise. About a month ago, I went on vacation with my 11 YO son (mom stayed home), and came back with so many great memories.
The best memory was a day of canyoneering in Water Canyon, UT, near Zion NP. Our hike in was 2 1/2 miles with an elevation gain of over 1000 feet...damn near killed me (lol). On our way back, we rappelled 5 times, ranging from 40-90 feet.
My son wants to do it again next year, so I better stay in training. I'll add a stair-stepper to the mix.
Without the drastic change in lifestyle, I never would have attempted that adventure.
A simple Google or Yahoo! search will lead to information supporting our FRiend’s beliefs.
Yeah, I recently hiked 1 mile with the grandkids with an elevation gain of 880 feet. Seemed fairly steep (16-17%). Nearly killed me twice..in both directions (knees gave out on the way down). Beautiful scenery, though.
No medical idiot can explain to me how a non-overweight man get diabetes so violently, who ate all the "right" foods. He did not/does not smoke and barely drinks. And its not genetic.
You mean the claim that aspartame and genetically modified foods cause most diabetes? I’m all ears for controlled studies supporting the above. Not so eager for links to other “I believe” sites.
