In the USA Today / Associated Press take on these new facts of yesterday’s story, they led with several paragraphs retelling the story of a terribly frightened wife in the presence of an assaulting man with a gun.
USA Today presented the news of there being no evidence of an actual assault as, instead, Shellie Zimmerman “not pressing charges.”
Only in paragraph eight does USA Today (and its three scumbag reporters: William M. Welch, John Bacon and Doug Stanglin) report the new news that there was no gun present during the altercation.
In other words, CBS retold the George-Zimmerman-as-assaulting-husband-with-gun story in a new news story which should have presented the new news that Zimmerman did NOT assault his wife and did NOT have a gun.
