America Needs A Real Leader
CFP ^ | September 7, 2013 | J.D. Longstreet

Posted on 09/08/2013 5:03:08 AM PDT by iontheball

There are lots of different kinds of conservatives in the US. Social conservatives, fiscal conservatives, political conservatives, religious conservatives, and the list goes on. That is why it is so difficult to define exactly what a conservative is and who is a true conservative. Me? Well, I am a conservative who can identify with everyone of the categories above… and then some.

As a conservative conservative… I am looking for a leader for America. I don’t mean another limp-wristed suck-up who’ll go, hat in hand, to our fair-weather friends in Europe, and the UN, seeking permission to take care of America’s business, no matter what that business for America happens to be. No! I want a leader who will act –and act without worry — (or more than passing consideration) for what the remainder of the world thinks. See, I don’t care what the rest of the world thinks!

TOPICS: Politics
KEYWORDS: conservativeleader
This topic comes up over and over as Conservatives yearn for an honest to goodness real leader. Here is the dicotomy that always seems to come up in this discussion. Anyone that is his own man, is labeled as too "extreme." Take Ted Nugent for example. The response you get is: "Oh, my goodness, you really want to lose the election don't you?" Well then, who is there out there who fits the bill as described by J.D. Longstreet?

its very simple. America needs real Americans who are not politically correct idiots and are not afraid and will do whatever is necessary to confront evil leftists and abolish a tyrannical government which is our right to do.

Yes, we need a “President” not a “Commander in Chief” but 0bama seems enamored with the military title.

BO and Military shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence.
The ‘title’ is typical of the Dictators that wore uniforms bedecked in medals, ribbons, epaulets, and the gaudy hat with many ‘scrambled eggs’ and those Reflecto Sun Glasses.

A skinny ‘Idi Amin type’ without the REAL power.

He (BO) is the ‘guy’ that in days past we would run around the world trying to unseat or topple his govt.

Like ‘POGO’ said “We have found the enemy and he is US”.

We need to do away with what Longstreet calls the “American Aristocracy.” This crap with entire families running the board in DC. It started with Bush in 92 and hasn’t stopped since. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, but Hillary is still in the background pulling levers of power.

America’s suicidal fascination with this ersatz global homogeneity is what’s truly killing us. While nations around the world dive into the abyss of Liberal Socialism, Americans are trying to force that square peg into the round hole of American Conservative Republicanism. We need to have an honest national conversation to attempt to undo at least some of the damage done to our youth. They need to understand that America, despite what they’ve been told by their liberal headmasters, is not a Democracy. We are a Republic, and that’s HARD WORK! Franklin understood that when asked what form of government they were giving the people. We’ve failed, as a nation, to “keep it.”

Americans need to disperse with this limp-wristed politically correct form of national dialogue and realize that America and American history, in general, is NOT politically correct. America’s rise is NOT fair. Fairness is not an absolute. It’s incredibly subjective, and while the rest of world bellyaches about America’s stance at the top of the political food chain, they don’t seem to mind when we put the lives of our volunteer armies into harm’s way to prevent catastrophe and strife around the world.

We are a nation of 330 million men, women, and children. India, China, even the majority of Europe and Russia aren’t anywhere near as hard working, generous, faithful, moral, or spiritually strong as we are as Americans. We give more in terms in money and blood than most nations. We work more hours and take fewer vacations to keep the engine of American business running. We seek guidance and wisdom from God, even if the media and the Liberals try to play like Christianity is dying. We are Americans. We are EXCEPTIONAL. The world knows it, so why does our media and our government act like it’s not true? Why act like America is the feeble elderly man in a hospital bed?

America needs a shot in the arm. We need citizen legislators to come back in force. No more of these dynasties. Put the People back in charge. God-willing, America will roar back to life sooner than most think.

Actually, Americans do not need a leader. Government should not lead, it should follow. Americans need to grow some spines and stop dithering while they wait for a government “leader”. Presidents are servants per the Founders and it’s time we started to treat them that way.

What you want has, unfortunately, been bred out of politics.

You want Sulla, or Cromwell, or Pinochet. If the Left is really unlucky, you’ll get Suharto, want him or not.

The status quo is unstable, thanks to the fact that too many people are allowed to vote. Obama is a symptom, not the cause.

What cannot last, won’t. Too bad nobody studies history anymore, except the history of the oppression of Africans and homosexuals. What cannot last, won’t.

Buckle your seatbelt.

(sarc) but I thought America elected a demi-God to erase all the sins of that evil, evil George Bush?

America voted for change and all they got was an infant President who's diaper needs changing every 5 minutes as he can't stop soiling himself, poor thing.

America voted twice for this man-child so you get what you deserve, problem is, the whole planet is paying a horrible price for these idiotic votes and support.

You had to be a real dimwit to support this faker so how many millions of dimwits do we have out there? 150 million?

We need to have an honest national conversation

Zombies do not converse. They shamble and moan.

Power is lying on the ground. History suggests that it will be picked up, and soon.

Usually not by a conversationalist.

Problem with some folks is that too many think “R” next to a name is conservative...and if an “R” supports a certain issue...then it’s a “conservative” issue

It’s that way with Free Trade. It is definitely not conservative to support foreign over domestic, which is what Free Trade is. Modern Free Trade, in its present form, was devised by FDR and John Maynard Keynes at Bretton Woods in the 1940’s...neither men in any sense would be called “conservative”. So many so-called “Fiscal Conservatives” whine about Keynes domestic economics....but are lock step with him on Free Trade.

And, Free Trade is supported by all the present-day Democrat leadership...including Barack Obama (who is presently working on a disastrous Free Trade deal with the EU..you ready for more Carbon Offsets and Greek Bailouts?). Just because mainstream “R” support Free Trade does not make it “conservative”

It is pretty much certain whenever someone is described as a “Fiscal Conservative”...they are usually neither. I find Social Conservatives are actually more economically conservative than those who claim they are “Fiscal Conservatives”
