We've all see how the left has used the term "denier" in the climate change debate. And despite the absurdity of its use in this context, it has nonetheless been an effective rhetorical device.
So I have to wonder, since there are so many opportunities for those of us on the right to employ this term - and to do so with far greater accuracy - why don't we?
For starters, let's consider the usage and equivalencies. The term "denier" is most widely associated with those who do not believe the historical events of the Holocaust. While those who apply this to climate change might argue an equivalency based on a future "holocaust", this comparison falls short because denying a historical fact is something quite different than holding a different view over unproven theories regarding what might happen in the future.
But we on the right have many opportunities to make better use of the term denier - better, because it would be based on historical facts rather than on future speculation - and some of those fact patterns would indeed relate to holocausts, of sorts. I therefore think we should co-opt this phrase and start applying the term "deniers" to some of these issues.
I'll gladly start this off, and I naturally invite other Freepers to add their own ideas on how this term could also be used.
