I am pro-life. I know that life begins at conception, and destroying that life for any reason is an unspeakable evil. I know that individuals have the right to bear arms to protect themselves from the tyranny of the federal government, criminals, and foreign enemies. I know that free market capitalism is the only way to run an economy, despite the fact that I'm not a millionaire like Chairman Obama's pals, Sarah Jessica Parker and Eva Longoria or a billionaire like Chairman Obama's boss, the evil George $oros. I know that homosexual "marriage" is destructive and wrong. I know that the borders must be defended and illegal aliens need to be deported. We could go on and on, and I could bore the crap out of you explaining why I think this way (other than the fact that they're truths that are self evident), but I don't think it's necessary. Odds are if you're reading this, you're a Conservative and you probably think the same way. 'Nuff said, to shamelessly rip off Stan Lee.
I have no problem saying any of the above in public. Hell, I'll talk to anyone who will listen about this stuff. Quite frankly, it's more than a feeling. (Cue up the Boston song.) It's who I am as a person. I've never held any other views for as long as I've been alive, and they'll be my views until the day I die. There's no imaginary "Koch money" paying for this column, I'm not some hack of a radio talk show host trying to make myself sound edgy, nor am I pimping myself for a sweet gig at the FOX Neocon Channel (FNC). I'm a "right-wing extremist" when I wake up late for work every morning and I'm a "right-wing extremist" when I finally pass out at night. As Popeye would say, "I yam what I yam and that's all that I yam."
Now, I don't consider myself some sort of hero to the Conservative Movement because I shout this from the rooftops every chance I get. Odds are, you do as well. There are millions upon millions of us. I'm no better at getting my point across than you or anyone else for that matter. But you know what, this column is not about me, nor is it about you, or the rest of the Conservative Movement's rank and file. This column is about the spineless blobs of wet cardboard that call themselves Republicans in public office.
Other than the usual suspects like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Tim Scott, Trey Gowdy, and Louie Gohmert, how often do we hear this stuff from Republicans ? Almost never. All we get now is now is "We're evolving on this issue", "We're looking for a bipartisan solution", and all kinds of other sit-down-when-you-pee mush that doesn't mean a damn thing to anyone, including the mental deficient who uttered it.
If you'll note, those on the Sociopath Left never utter this defeatist pablum. They're always goosestepping in the same direction. There's never a hint of moderation in anything they say or do. It's always Marxism at warp speed. Constitution ? It's a mere speed bump to them. They can't ram their latest scheme through CONgress ? They'll just write a regulation or issue an executive fiat. The voters are getting in the way ? They'll import new ones, get the all important dead vote, one man six votes, and go to their friendly courts if they have to. Granted, they have their sycophants in the arrogant and lazy media and Hollyweird backing them up, but the lib stormtroopers and gauleiters never seem to accept defeat, no matter what.
Why can't the Republican Party ? Why can't the Republican Party fight to the death on every blessed issue the way the Monstrous Left does ?
We're right on every issue. I've never had a discussion with a complete stranger about their daughter's partial birth abortion, but I've seen pictures of a complete stranger's grandchildren. For that matter, I've never heard anyone brag that their son is marrying some guy named Chip, nor have I ever heard anyone brag that their kid is on welfare. It's simply never happened, and it never will. And why is that, you ask ?
The American people simply don't find liberalism all that palatable, regardless of the results of the last election. (It was Mitt Trotsky who lost, not the Conservative Movement. An actual Conservative would have wiped the mat with our Dear Leader.) The moment the Republican party realizes this, they'll start winning again.
No, I'm not holding my breath either.
Ping!
bump
Hmmm... blessed issue. That's the problem here! We aren't asking God to bless these issues (or our efforts) any more, as best I can see it. This is not the rocket science of theology! Ask our loving Lord (He never quit being love) to exalt Himself and to that end, bless. God's not holding the grudge against us. We're holding the grudge against Him.
The answer isn't found in the GOP (though the GOP seems to be the only place such things get a foothold). It's found both on our knees and in our praises of God. God isn't someone to praise just when things are happy. God is to be praised when things are sad! That's where the spiritual energy is reaped!
i read the headline and my first thought was that this was about republicans.
And our most virtuous people will BE that way until they start to praise and glorify God again not just because they might be in the mood but because God deserves it. God’s the winner. Without Him we are losers. And God is tickled to be exalted but we have to invite Him to do that! This is not spiritual rocket science, although the result of heeding it will be to take off like spiritual rockets... TRY IT... you’ll see and you’ll wonder why you ever slacked off. The liberals are reaping spiritual power from Satan by their enthusiastic cheering of their wicked ideas. But Satan is a little runt next to God. Really guys and gals... quit being chickens, the power is there in heaven, open the tap!
Thanks, FRiend!
AGREED! See my tag line.
The SCOTUS spoke up on the voter ID but is that going to stop Holder from dragging Texas into court?
Why do “we” always surrender? “Well, its a settled issue now”
Am I that obvious ?
As far as I’m concerned, it’s a “they”. There hasn’t been a “we” as far as the base and the GOP are concerned in decades, if ever.
Yup, nobody says we won’t have to mow down demons on the way to evangelizing. But be of good cheer! He has overcome the world, and don’t buy it for a minute when Satan lies in your face that it’s permanent doom and gloom here and it’s no use. He knows he’s a goner when he sees God’s face.
I’m ready for some holy yeehaws. Cowboy up America and get right (confess sin to God and get immediate forgiveness) and praise the Lord, whoever wants to see this evil ousted. It’s not always easy but it’s always possible.
true
Yeah, another Satanic lie. We can’t guarantee any exact political result at any time but we can get the spiritual tide rolling the other way. Really, it’s like we have King Kong, they have Pee Wee Herman, but King Kong won’t move unless you give him a hug and a cheer... I don’t think this is over trivializing.
Same here. And I wasn't disappointed.
I disagree with the premise here, Alan. What the left does is plan long term, and one way or another (threats, payoffs - whatever) silence the ones that want to move faster than the planners want to move. They move slowly, steadily, and steathly until the environment is right, then pounce.
Want some examples? Banning private ownership of guns; removal of religion as powerful presence in society; advancement of homosexual rights; transference of wealth from earners to spenders; cradle to grave dependence on the government for everything from health to education - no options allowed.
These were all long term goals - very long term. When they weren't popular, they were kept below the radar but ground was being prepared. Eventually conditions were right and then they moved with shocking speed and stunningly success.
This is a war. The left uses the tactics of Sun Tzu and we, the Charge of the Light Brigade. The glorious charge of the Light Brigade. They fought to the death, alright.
Good points, all. I enjoy reading your opinions. However, the Republicans and the GOP are going the way of all our higher institutions.
They’re being infiltrated, intimidated, bribed, threatened, and given offers that they can’t refuse.
Every last spineless one of them, who gets mealy mouthed and “listens to” and repeats demwit advice about what it takes for Conservatives
to win, is a traitor to our country and the oath they took when they were seated in their high offices.
Their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor will never be at risk so long as we have wishy-washy, easily swayed cowards on our side of the aisle.
Jesus wept.
Ditto on that!
Amen!
