The GOP establishment in Georgia wants to tamp down tea party fervor ahead of a primary election for an open US Senate seat. Its aim: prevent a primary that yields a candidate who can't win a general election.
Four years after Atlanta saw some of the earliest and biggest tea party rallies in the country, Georgias GOP establishment, including Gov. Nathan Deal, are pondering strategies to reduce the right-wing insurgencys influence on next years primary election for a US Senate seat and on the larger struggle for power in Washington.

FUGOP!! Go, tea party!!
Paul Broun needs to be in this seat. We need to make that happen. To hell with the Georgia GOP that gave us Isakson, Chambliss, and Deal.
You got that right. We were pretty happy with Woodall but this Amash Ammendment vote is BS. We are attending his townhall on the 22nd and give him a piece of our minds.
I thought Nathan Deal would be a really good Gov but between his being suckered in on SPLOST and this Common Core stuff I am very disillusioned with him too.
Paul Broun is definitely the guy for Chambliss’ seat. Isakson has got to go in 2016.
