And a request for your moral support, and freeping the polls, on their behalf.
Today, I feel compelled to make this vanity post, because I hope to see these girls continue to garner fans and “take over the world”
so to speak! ^_^
The girls I’m talking about are a Korean pop music (KPop) group called “Crayon Pop.” They are a quintet of sweetly charming, cute girls, who debuted last year, and currently sweeping Korea (perhaps the world?) with an infectious tune called “Bar Bar Bar,” or “Bbabbabba” (which is the Romanized version of the Hangul text. The double"b" or "bb" is for emphasis).
What is most striking about these girls is the relatively conservative style in their presentation: They don’t dress scantilyin fact, part of their wardrobe is wearing track suit pants beneath their private school uniform-type skirts! It's a rather refreshing change from the scanty clothing, or trendy or glitzy outfits other performers wear! And from their interviews and “reality show videos,” they come across as naturally charming, hard-working girls, with dreams of fame (and fortune?), who want to put on a good show for their fans, and genuinely appreciate their fans.
Now, I’m sure most entertainers are hard-working and appreciate their fans; but, in my humble opinion, these girls have a genuine charm, humbleness, and sweetness that seem to translate across the screen and shows in their performances. I do dare say it’s been a while since I’ve seen anything like that. Seriously, it reminded me of interviews I’ve seen of The Beatles during their early years.
As a warning to those who are not familiar with Crayon Pop, KPop, or Asia in general: There is a bit of a cultural difference that may take some getting used to.
Moving forward, I hope these girls continue to grow and succeed at whatever challenges they face. They have much talent and such likeable personalities; I do wish them much success.
Whether you’re a KPop fan or not, if you haven’t checked them out, please do. If the music is not to your liking, please don’t be mean or rude--just move on. You do have my thanks for taking the time to check them out. Otherwise, I do hope you’ll become a big fan and show your support.
What about the voting? Please help vote for Crayon Pop and their song, “Bar Bar Bar,” by registering at MWave. They’re up against a lot major acts. The site is in English, Japanese and Chinese, as well as Korean; you can choose your language at the top of the page if it doesn't appear automatically. On behalf of Crayon Pop, and all the Crayon Pop fans, including myself, thank you for reading and letting me share this vanity post. ^/\^
I have been on a SNSD binge latley, I still go their Recent single stuck in head.
That kinda music makes me want to run into the mountains, never to be seen again.
If we play that music over and over again in Gitmo...
We would get alot more intel...
Anyone like to see 16-year old Lee high breaking up with her Teddy Bear in “It’s Over”? The bear was just trying to get her off junk food, jeesh.
Is wearing a helmet a fashion thing in Korea?
LOL - I played the vid with no sound, liked the moves just fine.
If that’s dancing, I’m Frisky the wonder tigress’ long-lost Siamese twin.
1980s aerobics class plus some easy cheer moves. I do like the innocence sort of, but I’m also a little weirded out by the naive, childlike vibe.
Good grief. That looks like live action Jem and the Holograms.
Kahm Sa Ni Dah!!
I’d hit the blonde though.
I can only take so much Hello Kitty...
I cannot take any HK
And the helmets are for what exactly?
Comparing them to the Beatles? Seriously? Are you out of your gourd?
Sadly, I’ve blown about $40k on that crap... and I never see it.
Dumb as David Yurman.
I lost interest in HK when I found out they were as pervy as the rest of Japan.... Hello Kitty sex toys?? jeesh!
The reason they wear the track pants is to hide their older looking knobby knees. Probably.
