Thanks for posting all of our Anthem's verses, Maudeen.
From time to time every American should refresh himself or herself on the inspired phraseology in all four stanzas.
The poetry and words are exquisitely literate and historic. The final verse is so quite beautiful....capturing the very essence of One Nation under God.

The Marines aren’t immune to the bad leadership we put in place. God help us.

“My President”? Don't put words or phrases in my mouth please, I never did that to you. Furthermore, stealing from they pay checks of lowly paid Navy mechanics or from nurses at Walter Reed is wrong, and the furlough of those who work for our military was wrong [especially when we pay hundreds of Billions to do-nothing’s in this country]. Now we learn the Marines are in jeopardy as a service, Obama threatened to take away disabled veterans benefits, thousands of defense jobs have been lost, the military is weaker, our enemies are emboldened, and massive layoffs in defense are on the horizon. You can attempt to convince yourself the fiscal rape of the military is a “good” thing. You will not convince me.

Its not just O and the Dims that threaten the Marines and the Defense of this country..the big threat IMHO is the Libertarians calling themselves Conservatives...

I have been both a Marine and a Soldier. The Army will never compare to the Marine Corps. I am still a Marine and a ex-Soldier.

a 2% budget cut evenly spread across ALL federally funded programs would have a negligible impactUntil the next election, when people who collect on the biggest wealth transfers (Medicare and Social Security) would vote in someone to increase their payouts by at least 2%.

"we need to be very careful that we do not lose a very important part of our culture"This is the new America. The culture and history of the old America is gone. Anything associated with it is now revised or demonized. I could go into more detail but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
The country that our fathers and forefathers fought and died for is now a thing of the past and the sad part isn't so much that at those that sacrificed everything to protect this country from enemies abroad did so for nothing but that this once great nation was destroyed from within and that most the people who where born after 1980 probably have no idea what they've lost.

I sometimes wonder what that smells like.....
