I don’t particularly care what anyone else may contend, I’ve read enough history on the period to understand that the LAST THING an african native would elect to be described as is a NEGRO.
He would demand to be described as AFRICAN.
The number 9 next to Race means there was no race stated; neither Negro nor African.
