It just flabbergasts me that Rush, the finest in the nation at calling the bluff of these liberals, gets vilified or just degraded by so many FReepers who somehow claim superior ability and knowledge.

Rush Limbaugh is a national treasure. He single-handedly stemmed the liberal flood when his show went on the air. I'm a listener since Gulf War I (Jan. 1991-or-so).

I was deeply honored that he chose my paragraph to cite. I've forgotten exactly what I wrote or even what the subject was, though.

In my opinion, Limbaugh stands as one of the four or five most important conservative thinkers of my lifetime -- with William Buckley, Milton Friedman, Barry Goldwater and their ilk. For FReepers to deny this is to betray their own heritage.

I may be an Okie, but the Stillwater variety, not the Norman variety. My memories of Lincoln are of Walt Garrison being tackled on the 10-yard line as time expired.
