When I was laid off from UnitedHealthcare (thanks, Obamacare) they sent me a document with a list of people who had been terminated at the same time. No names, just titles and ages. There were about 40 people in my area that got the ax at the same time, some with way more time of service than I had even though I was at about 12 years.
So why the list. Two reasons, though they would never say it out loud. First, nothing personal look at all these other folks. Second, its not age, see some of these folks are younger than you are.
Unless there are other extenuating circumstances that require the applicant to be between 17 and 35, I don’t think they can list that as a requirement. Then again, do you really want to work somewhere that you know already discriminates based on age?

Must be between the ages of 17 and 35 About the only organization able to put in age requirements like that is the military. Maybe some police or fire agencies are able have low ages like that rather than physical testing.
