The 1911 is fairly easy to strip and actually even detail strip if you have the intructions. The only problem I ever have is getting that barrel link just in the right spot to put the slide release pin through it.
The Browning Hi-Power us much easier to field strip tho.

Just watch out for that idiot scratch. Ruined the finish on my first 1911 the first time I took it apart.

YouTube's a good resource for almost every gun model. So is this:

Certainly appreciated that little shortcut on the take down!
My Gold Cup is tricked out for competition and everything is a tight fit.
Mark IV, Series 70 has a lot of rounds through it, so the small things are starting to need repair/replacement. So I don’t fire it too much anymore.

Thank You, Nachum!
That was a very instructional video. My Mama owns several little .22 and .25 “Saturday Night Specials”, and she has never field-stripped or completely cleaned & oiled any of them. I’m going to bookmark this video just for her. Thank you so much for posting this.

Do you have any videos showing the field stripping of a Ruger Mark III easily? Those guns are a son of a B%÷×#
