That’s why you’re my friend, FWF.

You have a right mind.

In the middle of June, we drove 3 hours to get our puppy and arranged our trip to get there just minutes before the kennel closed at 4PM to avoid the worst high heat of the day.

She’s a very ‘hot blooded’ pup and prefers quite cold temps and the ride home nearly scared me to death.

Despite the AC running full blast, she was miserable and uncomfortably “scary” hot in her airline kennel in the back seat so I rode 3 hours home with a big, squirmy pup on what little I have for a “lap” just so I could hold her tummy towards the AC vents in the dash.

She was comfortable then but my back and arms were killing me by the time we got home.

Would I do it again?

You bet.

Same here Salamander. This happens so often with children and pets here in Arizona. It drives us crazy. We’ve got two Yorkies. Anytime we travel, they too ride in airline kennels, one of us always stays in the car with the AC going if we have to stop anywhere. When we get to where we are going, the Yorkies are the FIRST thing we take out of the car.
