The Westboro Baptist Church regularly pickets at the funerals of children, returning vets, and even tried to protest the people who lost their lives in the Boston Bombings.
Their disgusting actions, however, are not always without irony. In an ad released on July 14th, the group claimed that American soldiers are being killed by God because gay marriage has been allowed to continued in the United States.
They also wondered if all Americans were "illerate." Yes, not "illiterate," but "illerate:"
Well then... I think this explains a lot about them.
Their leader, ol’ Fred, was the Kansas for Gore campaign chair for Al Gore the first time Al made a run in the late 80s.
They’re Democrats, so what do you expect?

hey, the MSM loves these spiritual goof balls because they can then scream about the “horrible homophobes.” never ever do they get the notion to contact, say, the SBC or even just about any actual Baptist church about the matter, from which they would get an incredibly well thought out answer.

For a supposed anti-gay group, you never see them protesting any actual gay targets like gay parades. Instead their targets are suprisingly conservative: Amish girls funerals, soldiers funerals, etc.

as a kind of strawman... well I dunno. weirder things have occurred in this world. most of the intrigues between heaven and hell are out of our sight for now. but the most straightforward explanation to me seems to be that of a godless vendetta.
