Maybe you have some input on why there are so few blacks in Canada. Personally I think the number is too low to make the race industry profitable there.
Here in Ontario slavery was not common and was banned in 1793. Most of the black population here arrived via the Underground Railroad and many returned when slavery was abolished in the USA.
The only province in which the practice of slavery was common was Nova Scotia, and there is still a significant black population there.
I think the main reason we had fewer problems with black/white relations is that we didn’t fight a war to preserve the institution of slavery. The debate over abolition in the Legislative Council of Upper Canada lasted two afternoons.
