There's another video asking college students questions about the 4th of July.
One cheerfully said, "Happy 2013 Birthday America!"
had a friend insist, by inference, that I refer to the 4th of July as Independence Day.
After the 3rd time of her responding to my salutation of Happy 4th of Juyy with “Happy Independence Day” I responded “I get what you are trying to here, as if I don’t understand the difference but, I’m not some guy who looks forward to another holiday weekend another day to share beer with friends.
To people like you and me the 4th and Independence Day have the same exact meaning and we are celebrating it’s uniqueness, as well, our history and the context of those words.
That is our strong history of the Magna Carta to the Virgina Bill of Rights, right on through the usurpation of our natural rights, by a despot king and an avaricious parliament, who sought at every turn to control us with the end result being not only a Declaration of Independence but, also to the creation of United States of America Constitution.
To further cement that God had given us, a free people, unalienable and inalienable rights described exactly and limiting the infringement of, in a Constitution that said the government may not do certain things to the people and is authorized to perform only 17 specific activities on behalf and at the behest of the people contained within the United States, it’s territories and sovereigns.
Still, I don’t like it when people dilute the meaning of The Saviors Birth with “Happy Holidays”, which always leaves me thinking “what holidays might they be referring to?”.
It is for that reason, the atheist movement, Moslem antipathy and other Devil Worshipin, Satanic Inspired, Kommunists that I will only say Merry Christmas.”
So, with that I will now and forever proclaim “Happy Independence Day” as there is nothing abstract or obfuscated in that phrase.
I have no idea why I went off on my little tangent that wasn’t even so much as a Non-Sequitor to the article.
I feel better though...
