She found an odd way to grieve. Take a Republican’s fortune she inherited and spend it on Democrat causes.
How spineless must the Heinz sons be to stand with her and Lurch on the DNC stage? I always that to be extremely strange.
I’m always struck by the irony of Heinz money sponsoring left wing organizations. But I think she was deeply in love with John Heinz if not the Republican Party and/or conservative causes.
I’ve noticed that a lot of women in or aspiring to Washington’s Green Book social circles find it mandatory to have an escort who meets minimal societal standards (proper education, looks good or at least decent in white tie, knows which fork to use when, good at small talk, etc). Love and affection and political party affiliation have little to do with it. Teresa found JFnK acceptable.
